Evolution Artifact; Dichotomous Key
This artifact is called a dichotomous key. This is used to classify organisms. It allows us to see the process of evolution. By classifying organisms you will be able to see which organism is more closer to the ancestor and which organisms is more modern. From this you will be able to figure out which traits derived first. The visual of the process of deriving traits will show how the organism got more modern traits and how did this help the organism to survive up until now. This is significant to me because it will help me better to visualize the process of how our ancestor evolved to how we are today. Every derived trait is valuable as to how we survive and function on a daily basis. You can apply this to real life by finding out evolution of a specie and how we are related it today. According to Charles Darwin we all have a common ancestor. From this we will be able to see how we are related and at what point in time our specie was created. We first learned this when we did a shark dichotomous key and this was the beginning of the unit. It gave us a jest of what we were going to learn.
