Dear Miss. D. Tran,
My name is Sankavi Muralitharan; I am currently a grade eleven student at Louise Arbour Secondary School. My interest is playing sports; to be honest I would rather play the sport than watch it on television. My hobbies include watching television, shopping and reading in my spare time. My strengths are Chemistry, English, talking to people and organizing time. My weaknesses are math and patience.
I took grade eleven Biology because it is a perquisite for the university program I wish to be accepted in. I also want to learn about the different kinds of living organism and how they interact with the environment surrounding them. In my opinion Biology is a study of the environment and all living things: bacteria, animals, birds, reptiles and insects. Biology informs us about the different organisms and that even if they are small they have a huge impact on our lives. I have been learning Biology my whole life, but in this course I would like to be taught Biology in more depth. My goal is to be a microbiologist; Biology will give me more of an idea on how my career might be. My previous knowledge of Biology includes plant cell, animal cell, photosynthesis, cellular respiration, the different systems in the human body and the basic information of living organism.
In order to do well in Biology I must change my working habits. I should come to class on time, visit the wikispace page the night before, review my notes every night, start reviewing for quizzes and tests a week before, and ask the teacher if I do not understand something. Although every student must check the wikispace page every day, it would be great if you gave us a warning that there is something important happening that week. You can also teach a lesson more thoroughly. I really hope this semester goes well for the both of us.
Sincerely,
Sankavi Muralitharan
