Internal Systems Scientist: Jenny Heathcote
Jenny Heathcote now a professor of medicine at the University of Toronto.
She is also a gastroenterologist and scientist at the University Health Network.
Graduated from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in London 1968
Trained there with Dame Professor Sheila Sherlock on the transmission of Hepatitis B.
After that she had gone for further training at Stanford before she had moved to Toronto.
Soon after arriving at Toronto she had developed an internationally recognized liver clinic research unit.
She contributed to hepatology which included seminal work on the natural history of autoimmune hepatitis.
She contributed to liver disease which she has won numerous awards for.
