2O12 Miss Tran's Biology Class Having Fun
The pictures with the gummy worms were a chromosome activity. We used gummy worms to replicate chromosomes strands so used them to show the process of meiosis. I was partnered with Samantha
The picture of the pig was taken during the pig dissection. i was in a group with Karen, Shezaad, Jennifer, Samantha and Maryam. We dissected the pig and took out all the vital organs that are part of the respiratory, circulatory and digestive system. Jennifer and I took the small intestine and separated it, It turned out to being 200 cm long.
The picture of Jennifer teaching the class was when Jennifer tried to teach the class a slideshow about evolution. Although the class did not understand Jennifer's lecture we still had a crack at it.
The heart was the pig's heart. My group sliced the heart up into pieces trying to look at the inside components. What can I say i guess we're all 'heart breakers'/
The stuffed animals represented a disease. The blue one was a water bug. The red one is Typhoid fever. The white and brown one was the Beer and Bread. These stuffed animals were cute and all, but they are very dangerous.
The tray with the beans was an activity done during evolution. In a group of four each person had a 'mouth'. cloth pin, chopstick, tweezer. After each round the least successful mouth became 'extinct'. After the first three rounds the spoon evolved, which turned out to being the most successful mouth.
The picture of the disease and the class standing in a circle was taken very recently. I had the Zygomycosis disease and we had to go around in circles educating others about our disease. The inner circle had to rotate clockwise teaching the outer circle.
The picture with the different type of micro-organisms was the first assignment we had for evolution. we had to describe the different organisms, where they live and what they do.
The picture of the chromosome was one of the karyotypes used in the murder genetic summative. I was in a group with Jaspreet, Samantha, Gurvir and Pavan. We had to use evidence to figure out who killed the Captain
The picture of Samantha and I looking through a microscope was taken when we were examining a specimen. We had to use the equations of high power, medium power and low poser to determine the actual size of the specimen.
Finally the picture of the DNA sequence was a part of the galapogas booby summative. We had to compare the DNA sequence of each Booby with each other. Although it took us a long time to count the difference we finally got the answer.

This is all of the Pig's Organs, poor Bob
Jennifer and I cut out the small intestine so it would be a rope like chain. It took forever by it turned out being 208 cm long. WOW!
